NextComputing announces immediate availability of the Edge workstation line optimized for Virtual Reality with AMD Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 graphics cards.
Leveraging the Radeon™ Pro WX 7100, the Edge workstation was designed with the creative professional in mind. The Edge is ideally suited for those that demand the best in performance, style and value.
Individuals and organizations leading VR development in industries from Media & Entertainment (M&E) to Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) stand to benefit from the potentially game-changing value offered by the Edge by NextComputing combined with Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 graphics cards by AMD.
For those who demand maximum performance in minimal space, NextComputing will unveil the Edge T100 mini-tower workstation at NAB 2017. Encased in a soft-touch, compact chassis, the Edge T100 accommodates up to three (3) Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 graphics cards in a system about half the size and weight of a typical tower workstation.
The professional aesthetics of the Edge T100 help convey the system’s raw performance, coupled with near silent operation. Furthermore, the Edge T100 is price competitive with tower workstation offerings, with a VR-optimized configuration available for $3,599.
For those that need true “all-in-one” portability, NextComputing offers the Edge P100 with fully-integrated 17” HD display built into the chassis. Although this ultra-sleek portable accommodates up to two (2) Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 graphics cards, even a single Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 card can power the internal display, while simultaneously driving up to three (3) additional 5K external displays and/or HTC Vive VR headsets.
“Unifying the efforts of NextComputing and AMD Radeon Technologies Group provides customers with turnkey solutions to create tomorrow’s compelling VR content,” explains NextComputing President and CTO, Bob Labadini. “NextComputing and AMD have a strong history of successfully bringing new technology to market by actively engaging and supporting the content development community. The Radeon Pro WX 7100 card’s superior performance and features paired with NextComputing’s world-class workstation build quality and design are an ideal solution for today’s professional creators,” said Ogi Brkic, general manager, professional graphics, Radeon Technologies Group, AMD. “The Radeon™ Pro WX 7100 was designed to intersect new industry inflection points such as VR and the growing adoption of real-time engines, empowering creators of all kinds to deliver the next generation of exceptional content.”
